Advisory

The panel above lists some of the costs. It is not comprehensive.

We liaise and bargain with doctors to make sure our people receive the best treatment, for the fairest price.

Please don't feel that you must meet the criteria shown above. No amount is too small.

If you dislike the idea of using PayPal to make a donation, please check out the other options that are available.

Thank you.

A: All positions on the committee are honorary and unpaid.

Q: Do the committee pay their own air fares when they travel to Kolkata?

A: Yes

Q: How does the committee prioritise on who receives help?

A: The committee uses as its criteria the following 4 points:

Q: Does the charity receive help from any other organisations or any government funding?

A: No. Collections of funds is done through fund raising functions, donations and sponsorships. However, we are an Income Tax Exempt Charity, and we also have a Gift Deductible entity.

DONATIONS OF $AU2 AND OVER ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

Q: Doesn't charity begin at home?

A: This is a rhetorical question often asked by people. Yes, charity and the practicing of charity, does begin at home. That is where we are taught at our parents' knees that charity is a virtue and we learn from a very early age to practice it, to give when one has enough. As a rich nation we can afford to do this. As citizens of a world where there is poverty in many countries, we cannot afford not to recognise the need.

Q: How does FHCF meet its responsibility for accountability?

A: Under the provisions of the Charitable Collections Act 1946, Licensed Charitable Organisations like us submit audited financial statements, including income and expenditure statements and balance sheets, at the end of each financial year. We strive to make all our activities as transparent as possible and regularly publish our income and expenditure on this website.
