A: No. Collections of funds is done through fund raising functions, donations and sponsorships. However, we are an Income Tax Exempt Charity, and we also have a Gift Deductible entity.
Q: Doesn't charity begin at home?
A: This is a rhetorical question often asked by people. Yes, charity and the practicing of charity, does begin at home. That is where we are taught at our parents' knees that charity is a virtue and we learn from a very early age to practice it, to give when one has enough. As a rich nation we can afford to do this. As citizens of a world where there is poverty in many countries, we cannot afford not to recognise the need.
Q: How does FHCF meet its responsibility for accountability?
A: Under the provisions of the Charitable Collections Act 1946, Licensed Charitable Organisations like us submit audited financial statements, including income and expenditure statements and balance sheets, at the end of each financial year. We strive to make all our activities as transparent as possible and regularly publish our income and expenditure on this website.
